Where to find electric vehicle charging points
There are electric vehicle charging points across the city. These are run by ourselves and other organisations. Our charging points are part of the ChargePlace Scotland network.

We run 3 types of charging points
7kW standard
- Standard charging points are ideal for charging vehicles over a longer period of time. This might be in residential areas or for commuters at Park and Ride sites.
- Our 7kW standard charging points have a Type 2 socket and you will need to use your own cable.
22kW fast
- Fast charging points are ideal for charging vehicles for up to 3 hours. This might be in residential areas or close to shops and services.
- Our 22kW fast charging points have a Type 2 socket and you will need to use your own cable.
50kW rapid
- Rapid charging points are ideal when a vehicle needs to charge quickly, often in a busy part of the city.
- Our 50kW rapid charging points have three cables: CCS, CHAdeMO and Type 2. You should avoid using the Type 2 cable as you will receive a limited amount of charge within the maximum stay period.
How we have chosen charging point locations
Connecting electric vehicle charging points to the electricity grid is expensive, so it is more cost effective to maximise the number of charging points in one location.
We have created several charging hubs where multiple charging points are available. We have prioritised areas where residents do not have off-street parking. We have also chosen locations where the charging points will be accessible to everyone.
